The stress to one of these words can be very important to the listener to understand the idea. Moreover, the adage is I’d say, “floating”-meaning that it can touch a person because he is thinking about something specific, right at the moment. OK is used instead of “perfect,’’ “terrific”, or possibly “poor,” “useless”.
OK is neutral and can be either a positive characteristic or a negative one. It becomes difficult to give any interpretation. There is another, well-known proverb: honesty is the best policy. Maybe, it is difficult to be always sincere with the others. We used to think it’s necessary to conceal some thoughts from other people if we want to get something from them. If a man wants somebody to do something for him, he should explain to him why he needs his help.
Or if a worker wants to go home from work earlier than usual, he must tell his/her chief the reasons for his leaving his work place (feels ill, or his relative is taken to the hospital), but he shouldn’t just go without saying anything, or ask his colleague to hide the fact of his being absent. An honest man always makes the others sympathize with him, cope with his difficulties because there will be more people who wish to help him.
On the contrary, the man who always conceals his mind from the others, who always intrigues somebody, makes people despise him, is often lonely. That’s why it is possible to say that fair play is OK. In our country there are many specialized schools and we have a great number of fans. In my life there weren’t many cases worth speaking about but I’d like to retell one, because I was greatly impressed.
On a beautiful summer day together with my friends I was playing football and team was trying to win, but in vain. One of our team-mates began to play unfairly and I was very disappointed. I thought it could have been very dangerous for the other team, and the best solution was to replace that player, but paradoxically he scored a goal and the victory was ours!!! But was it fair?
